Q1. Many companies today are allowing customers to select design features of their products using the internet. Visit the website of Ford Motor company (http://www.ford.com/cars/mustang/2014/customizer/) and find the web page that allows you to build and price a Ford Mustang. Select all the design options you would like. What is the price you would pay for your new Mustang? Log in through your facebook account and post your car and ask your friends on facebook to vote for your car. You can put more than one car? I will check this assignment on the website itself. So do invite me to vote for your car on facebook. Do this Question by 2nd Feb 2015 4 pm please.

Q2. The second part of assignment is based on an industrial visit.
Aim is to give you practical exposure to the modules that you have to learn as part of this course.
In this context, a field visit is being organized for you to Mahindra Manufacturing Plant in Mohali next week from 10 to 1 pm, where they manufacture tractors.
What you are expected to do during this visit and as part of Assignment Q2:
1)   You are to submit a one page pre-visit report by 1st Feb 2015 on Mahindra Swaraj Tractor Plant in Mohali covering two aspects
a.   About their product line and markets
b.   Quality Management concepts being used in their operations

2)   After the Industrial visit, you are to submit again a one page report of your visit picking up one aspect of Quality management which the company is adapting for any one operation that you saw along with the process chart for that operation.

You may be asked to present your work in class, so do save your work on pen drive and be ready to present the same in front of the class at one day’s notice.
